Krankheitsbeschreibung

Die Sklerodermie ist eine seltene autoimmune Bindergewebserkrankung/Kollagenose mit abnormer Verhärtung der Haut und manchmal auch anderer Organe. Zwei Hauptformen werden unterschieden: (i) Zirkumskripte Sklerodermie und (ii) Systemische Sklerose (SSc). Letztere hat drei Untertypen: diffuse kutane SSc (dcSSc), limitierte kutane SSC (lcSSC) und limitierte SSc (s. diese Termini). Geschätze Prävalenzen sind 1-9:100.000 für Zirkumskripte Sklerodermie und 1:6.500 für Erwachsene mit Systemischer Sklerose. Hauptsächlich Frauen sind betroffen (w:m=4:1). Die Zirkumskripte Sklerodermie ist eine kutane Form der Sklerodermie mit fibrosierten Hautplaques (Morphaea) oder -streifen (lineare Sklerodermie). Die Systemische Sklerose ist eine generalisierte Erkrankung mit Fibrose und Gefäßverschlüssen in der Haut und in anderen Organen, besonders Lunge, Herz und Verdauungstrakt. Die genaue Ursache der Sklerodermie ist nicht bekannt. Die Krankheit geht von einer autoimmunen Reaktion aus, die zur Überproduktion von Kollagen führt. In einigen Fällen ist die Krankheit mit Chemikalienexposition assoziiert. Als weitere Ursachen werden genetische und infektiöse Faktoren diskutiert.
